1.What is the fiscal year and corresponding earnings release dates?

ABS-CBN's fiscal year is the same as the calendar year. The deadline for submission of quarterly earnings releases to the Securities and Exchange Commission is 45 calendar days at the end of each quarter. For audited annual financial statements, the deadline set by the Securities and Exchange Commission is 105 days at the end of each fiscal year.

1.When was ABS-CBN incorporated?

The corporate name ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. was first used in 1967, ten years after the Lopez-established Chronicle Broadcasting Network (CBN) acquired Alto Broadcasting System (ABS).

The company's origin can be traced to Bolinao Electronic Corporation (BEC) which was established in 1946 to assemble radio transmitting equipment. In 1952, BEC changed its name to ABS and became the first commercial television broadcaster in the Philippines. In 1956, the Lopez family established CBN to operate radio stations. And in 1957, CBN acquired ABS.

4. What is ABS-CBN's position on buying back its stock?

ABS-CBN is open to the possibility of a stock buyback. Decisions on whether to buyback stock will depend on future capital requirements and expected cash flow trend.

In the event of sustained cash flow in excess of requirements, a stock buy-back may be an appropriate financial management tool, as a way of recovering equity, reducing capital costs and increasing the return on equity.
